Post-Election Pain
Just two days after the election, I have come to the conclusion that just slightly over half of the country has officially gone insane. Influenced by the giddy anticipation of "something for nothing", dim-witted parasites and rose-colored-glass wearing shortsighted idealists turned out in droves to vote in the most moronic presentation of disastrous policy and politicians ever presented in the history of this country. This will be a wild ride, there will be blood, we have been wounded...but not mortally.
Of all the sound bites taken on election days rallies across the country, this one stands out most in my mind - "I won't have to worry about money for my gas, I won't have to worry about my mortgage. He's going to help!" http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=P36x8rTb3jI&feature=related Well, honey, I have news for you. I will not be assisting in this re-distribution of wealth. Those of us smart enough to achieve it are also smart enough to avoid it being taken from us. To all the other producers and movers in this still-free great country - stand firm. Remember Ayn Rand's "I will not live for the sake of another man, nor ask another man to live for mine."
Below I've attached some of the comments I've received since the election. There's good advice for employers, shocking realities of policy changes, and sad stories of those who have admitted defeat.
We are not amongst those defeated. The gloves are off. We will survive. Great fortunes will be made in the next few years. Those who can WILL, and those who can't will starve.

Prop 2 passes in California
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
The California ballot initiative on farm animal housing has passed by a fairly large margin with 63% for to 37% against as of 5:30 a.m. Central with 87% of the vote in. The initiative, listed as Proposition 2, or "Prop 2," closes down the California egg industry -- affecting 95% of the state's egg production and forcing California consumers to buy eggs from other states and from Mexico. Prop 2 will become effective in 2015.
Passage represents a huge victory for Prop 2's supporters, the main two of which are the animal rights groups Farm Sanctuary and the Humane Society of the United States (HSUS), the latter of which supports vegetarianism. It is largely expected that Farm Sanctuary and HSUS will employ momentum from their victory to carry the measure to other states that have ballot initiatives and directly to state assemblies in those states that do not.
HSUS chief executive officer and president Wayne Pacelle, in a statement issued late last night, declared that California voters "have taken a stand for compassion and decency and said systematic mistreatment of animals on factory farms cannot continue. All animals deserve humane treatment, including animals raised for food."
Californians for Safe Food, which opposed Prop 2, issued its own statement last night, saying the coalition led by Farm Sanctuary and HSUS "led an emotionally manipulative, dishonest and often deceptive campaign." Safe Food commended its supporters and listed a number of accomplishments, including the fact that more than 30 of California's major newspapers came out in opposition to Prop 2.
Prop 2 requires that all farm animals, "for all or the majority of any day," not be confined or tethered in a manner that prevents an animal from lying down, standing up, turning around or extending its limbs without touching another animal or an enclosure such as a cage or stall. It specifically addresses modern cage housing for hens and stalls for sows and veal calves. It carries criminal penalties for violations, including fines and jail terms.
The pork and veal industries already have been researching group housing systems to phase out stalls as the science and technology to do so becomes available, and modern cage housing for hens already provides the highest standards of animal welfare as prescribed by animal ethicists and scientists (Feedstuffs, Oct. 13).
Hens in cage housing systems can express almost all natural behavior but cannot extend their wings without touching another hen or their enclosures. Two important studies have concluded that Prop 2 will force all cage and most cage-free egg producers in California to shut down and will cost California thousands of jobs and hundreds of thousands of dollars in lost revenues (Feedstuffs, May 26, July 28 and Sept. 22).
Obama Sale
The economy has had many trial and tribulations over the past few years. Our breeding program has withstood all of them, with continued sales and the ability to sustain and expand our program.
We do not have faith that will continue to be the case under a presidency of Obama.
Therefore we are drastically reducing our herd of horses, hoping in this way to be able to continue our goals within the conditions that we believe the upcoming 4 years will place on our country.
All of the horses listed below will be sold to the highest offer made by December 5th. Payment to be made upon acceptance of offer as purchase price, if we consider your offer a good one - the horse will be withdrawn from the sale and you have made a purchase. If not accepted immediately, it will be posted as the current offer on the horse and if no other offer tops it by December 5th then your offer will be accepted.
Included in sale are proven Broodmares, Weanling gaited mules and Weanling gaited foals, ApHC Registered mares, Gaited Geldings undersaddle.
NO offer will be refused, except to a higher offer. Therefore all horses will sell.
Transportation is the responsibility of the Buyer, as is the cost of coggins and health papers. Horses not picked up or transported after 10 days from purchase will begin to pay board for up to 30 days. All horses MUST be removed within 30 days of purchase.
Subject: Spreading the Wealth Around
Here is a creative approach to redistribution of wealth as offered in a local newspaper...
Today on my way to lunch I passed a homeless guy with a sign that read 'Vote Obama, I need the money.' I laughed.
Once in the restaurant my server had on a 'Obama 08' tie, again I laughed as he had given away his political preference--just imagine the coincidence.
When the bill came I decided not to tip the server and explained to him that I was exploring the Obama redistribution of wealth concept. He stood there in disbelief while I told him that I was going to redistribute his tip to someone who I deemed more in need--the homeless guy outside. The server angrily stormed from my sight.
I went outside, gave the homeless guy $10 and told him to thank the server inside as I've decided he could use the money more. The homeless guy was grateful.
At the end of my rather unscientific redistribution experiment I realized the homeless guy was grateful for the money he did not earn, but the waiter was pretty angry that I gave away the money he did earn -- even though the actual recipient deserved money more.
I guess redistribution of wealth is an easier thing to swallow in concept than in practical application.
OR IS IT.........REDISTRIBUTION OF SOMEONE ELSE'S WEALTH IS A GREAT IDEA..............or just a fools game!!
Dear Fellow Business Owners:
As a business owner who employs 120 people, we
have resigned ourselves to the fact that Barack
Obama will be our next president, and that our taxes and
fees will go up in a BIG way.
To compensate for these increases, we figure that the
Customer will have to see an increase in our fees to them of
about 8-10%. We will also have to lay off 25 of
our employees. This really bothered us as we believe we are
family here and didn't know how to choose who will have
to go. So, this is what we did.
We strolled thru the parking lot and found twenty Obama
bumper stickers on our employees cars. We have decided
these folks will be the first to be laid off.
We can't think of another fair way to approach this
problem. If you hav e a better idea, let me know.
We our sending this letter to all business owners that we
know.
Sincerely
XXX
The arrogant, ignorant, angry Left have finally got what they asked for. We'll see if they can successfully destroy 200 years of capitalism and the last vestiges of business in 4 years of Obama.
Kail and Rene, I have heard so much about you folks through my dad, Butch ...I told him when he meets up with ya, buy em a drink on me!Hopefully I will be over during the spring and have the opportunity to meet you.
So on with comment section and subject at hand.
With the upcoming Recovery and Reinvestment Act, we better go stock up on KY Jelly, cus were gonna need it! Hang on cus its gonna be a helluva ride! in regards to the redistribution of wealth....zimbabwe grabbed ahold of that idea and look where its landed them....broke & starving! It took them all of 20 years to go from a bread basket nation supplying the continent to utter famine and destitution.
We are not far from that when we tear down those that have made it, worked hard for it, held onto it only to be forced to hand it over to those that do not want to put in the effort. Only to have them piss it away, and keep asking for more.
